Adams did not want to reveal exactly what advice Cuomo gave him or, in any case, details of what was discussed in their two-hour meeting, but his press secretary, Fabien Levy, supported the mayor’s justifications, through a statement in which he said: “Mayor Adams meets with many former government officials to talk about governorship, which is especially important in these unprecedented times.”
