Mexico City.- The mayor of Iztapalapa, Clara Brugada Molina, announced that she tested positive for coronavirus and, although her health is good, she will remain in confinement and work from home.
“I would like to inform you that I have tested positive for COVID-19. I am isolated, well and working,” the official said on her Twitter account on Tuesday morning.
“I am in constant communication with all areas of the mayor’s office to coordinate and evaluate the government’s actions. We continue to work without interruptions to protect the population,” he added.
Clara Brugada is not the only mayor who has been diagnosed with the SARS-CoV-2 virus in Mexico City; before her is the case of Coyoacán mayor Manuel Negrete.
Head of Government Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo also contracted COVID-19 and has been in confinement since last week while the virus leaves her system.
