Copenhagen mayor Frank Jensen is resigning from office after allegations of misconduct against women. He has decided to step down as mayor of the Danish capital with immediate effect.

In the course of the MeToo debate, which has once again gripped Denmark in recent weeks, multiple women have made allegations against Jensen. He allegedly behaved sexually offensive towards them in incidents in 2012 and 2017.
The Social Democrat apologized for his behavior after a crisis meeting he convened in town hall on Sunday evening. A clear majority of his party members agree that he remains mayor, Jensen had said. The 59-year-old has been mayor of Copenhagen since 2010. He was previously Minister of Science and Justice.
