The mayor of Chartres (Eure-et-Loir), Jean-Pierre Gorges, has just received a Marianne d’Or for his innovative speech on May 8, developed using artificial intelligence. He had broken his arm but dug his head to create a few sheets.

The competition celebrates its fortieth anniversary and, for this fortieth prize list, the competition rewarded Jean-Pierre Gorges, mayor of Chartres, and in particular his speech on the 78th anniversary of the Victory of May 8, 1945, written by ChatGPT.

The first speech using artificial intelligence

Fifteen winners were in the running this year and it was the innovation aspect that particularly interested the jury, which presented the speech as the “first speech written with the help of artificial intelligence”… a speech “ Chartres GPT laughs the mayor.

For the first time in twenty-two years, the Mayor did not personally write his speech for the patriotic ceremony on May 8. With a broken arm, the keyboard was wayward. Never mind, he is probably the first elected official to use the artificial intelligence of ChatGPT.
