Mayor Frank Meyer awarded the city’s first Hansheinz Hauser Craftsmanship Prize to roofer Andreas Pavel (34) from Oppum at a ceremony in the music school. Starting this year, Krefeld will use the prize every two years to honor special achievements in craft businesses and medium-sized companies. The Lord Mayor paid tribute to the award winner in his speech in the presence of many guests, including the honoree’s family, representatives from politics and city administration, from the trades and from Krefeld companies: “Andreas Pavel really deserves this award. With his company, he has created a real start-up biography and is one of the drivers of the energy transition in our city. With his professional biography, Andreas Pavel shows what can be achieved with courage and diligence.”
