Mayor Éric Piolle Explains 25% Property Tax Increase and Education Projects in Grenoble

As property tax notices arrive at Grenoble property owners, the mayor, Éric Piolle, sent them a letter detailing the reasons for the 25% increase voted for last March. A letter which specifies the projects which will be financed by 11 of the additional 44 million collected through this means.

This is one of the commitments contained in the mayor’s letter: in September 2024, while their price has soared this year, school supplies will be free. “The City is engaging in partnership work with the services of the Ministry of National Education to achieve completely free school supplies for each Grenoble schoolchild by putting an end to the additional lists still too often requested from families,” specified the municipality in last January. The work continues but no more precise announcement has yet been made.
