Antwerp mayor Bart De Wever (N-VA) received a lot of criticism this weekend for letting the shopping Sunday continue in his city. According to him it was this or the chaos. De Wever was particularly affected by the attacks that came from different quarters. “Statements that the population incited against me”, says De Wever. “He could have done it smarter and better,” said Governor Cathy Berx.
