Mayor criticizes RKC fans: ‘Are you proud of yourself?’

The mayor of Waalwijk, Sacha Ausems, is angry with the approximately one hundred RKC supporters who sought a confrontation with the Mobile Unit (ME) on Sunday after the match between RKC and Ajax. They threw stones, poles and bicycles at officers. “Should I really consider whether I should give permission for every game, or ban supporters, or ban a game,” the mayor wonders.

The riot police had to be called in to control the situation and deal with ‘several serious charges’ and batons. After 45 minutes, the police said that the situation was under control. No one was arrested.

Ajax supporters did not stop the riots. In the press release, the police said it was ‘unfortunate’ for what ‘the so-called RKC supporters’ did.

According to the mayor, ‘this is not without consequences’. msgstr “The pictures will be examined closely. To be followed.”
