The Attorney General’s Office ordered the opening of a disciplinary investigation against the municipal mayor of Santa María, Huila, Julio Cesar Peralta Ardila, and the former mayor Nolberto Castro Trujillo (2016-2019), for alleged irregularities in the construction of the El Bache educational headquarters in the Las Juntas Institution.
The Neiva Provincial of Instruction indicated that, apparently, the works were carried out on a vacant lot that had not been legalized for such purpose, and that they were finally left unfinished, which produced a possible detriment to the State of more than 78 millions of pesos.
The entity alleged that Castro Trujillo supposedly signed the legal transaction when he served as local representative and Peralta Ardila was in charge of receiving and liquidating it when he received the position, without verifying the planning of the project and the real state in which it was found.
The auditor, Bris Yamil Polanía Ramírez, was also included in the investigation initiated by the Public Ministry, due to apparent deficiencies in control and monitoring with respect to the final amounts that were executed by the contractor.
The disciplinary action initiated by the Attorney General’s Office seeks to determine the occurrence of the conduct, establish whether it constitutes a disciplinary offense and define whether or not it acted under a cause of exclusion of liability.
