“South West” You are retiring in a few days after having led the ARS of Nouvelle-Aquitaine during a major crisis. Today, we are talking about the second wave. What does this inspire you?
Michel Laforcade This second wave has many possible contours. Perhaps we are already there, that is to say a multitude of low noise clusters but which do not mass as in the first episode with a peak and a fallout on the plateau, perhaps will- we have to get used to living with the virus, maybe it will die out or on the contrary we will experience a wave identical to the first, or even higher. The first wave taught us modesty in terms of forecasting… Every day new questions arise.
Today, for example, we see that the virus is restarting but that this does not translate into a sharp increase in hospitalizations. Does this mean that the virus is less harsh? Is it because many of the people affected are young?
What would “be ready” mean?
