Jakarta –
Donny van De Beek again urged to think carefully about his future in Manchester United. He’s too good to be a bench warmer.
Signed in last summer, Donny van de Beek failed to win confidence in the squad Manchester United. He did appear 36 times in all competitions, but with a total playing time of 1,456 minutes.
That means the midfielder for the Dutch national team only spends an average of 40 minutes 24 seconds each time he plays. The former Ajax midfielder has only scored one goal and two assists in all competitions.
It is difficult for Van De Beek to grab a position in midfield. United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer still has Bruno Fernandes, Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay to choose from in the sector.
Ex-Ajax player Rafael van der Vaart regrets fate Donny van de Beek at Manchester United. A player as good as a 24-year-old midfielder should not sit on the bench a lot.
“He fits perfectly into the Ajax system, but he doesn’t fit in Manchester United. If nobody leaves United, he will be lucky to be in the starting line-up,” Van der Vaart told ESPN FC quoted Metro.
“He’s too good to sit on the bench for two seasons. He needs playing minutes soon. He’s still young, but time is ticking.”
“A club like Borussia Dortmund would be a better move for him actually. Manchester United maybe a step too far for him,” added the former Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur player.
