May 5 will be an annual public holiday in the new collective labor agreement of Volksbank | Economy

Employees of de Volksbank are entitled to holidays every year on Liberation Day. The company behind ASN Bank, SNS and RegioBank, among others, has agreed this with the unions CNV and De Unie in the new collective labor agreement. Employees may also swap a midweek vacation for another vacation that aligns with their religious or cultural background.

In addition, employees are being granted leave in the new collective bargaining agreement if they want to change gender, and more space has been created for volunteering. De Volksbank says the firm wants to show its social involvement and inclusiveness with this.

Employees will receive an additional 4.5% wage in February next year. A further 4.25% will be added in May 2024. There is also a one-off payment of €1,000 gross. The new collective labor agreement enters into force on 1 January and has a duration of two years.

The FNV union does not agree with the banking group’s proposal. A union spokesman says the wage offer is too low. FNV wants wages to increase in line with inflation, which is not the case in the recently signed agreements. The union is in the process of conducting a survey of de Volksbank’s staff and is not ruling out possible action.
