/ world today news/ For a thousand years, the Bulgarian people have experienced many trials, gravitated in different directions – lured by the changing historical conditions in distant and neighboring nations. But in these hesitations and temptations, he has kept one thing indisputable – he has remained united in his language and in his writing.
Everything in our country has been controversial: politics, finances, economy, territorial integrity – one untouchable thing, the one precious and treasured possession of every Bulgarian is their common, unified language, their one script! The greatness and sanctity of the Thessalonica brothers consists in the fact that they gave our people something that does not divide anyone, but unites everyone. Therefore, their work exceeds the values of a human work; therefore the people have placed them above themselves. And we will enjoy their gifts as long as we place them in that height. The day we align ourselves with them – the gifts will dry up…
In fact, the feast of St. St. Cyril and Methodius is the feast of the small Slavic letter from which the Slavic word is formed. Neither a Slav nor a Bulgarian exists outside of it. This word, which is beginning without end, has preserved us from all trials and alone provides us with life in the future. To truly express our respect and gratitude for the work of the holy brothers, that is to say, to express and – even more importantly – to prove our respect for the Bulgarian word and writing. Let’s not defile them, keep them clean even when we make a living from them. Because they are not given to us only for benefit, but for distinction.
