The May 1st demonstration of left-wing and left-wing extremist groups in Hamburg began on Monday with the “Who has, who gives” alliance. “We can no longer and do not want to afford the rich,” said the call for the demo, which started at the Eppendorfer Baum and was to lead through the posh districts of Harvestehude and Pöseldorf.
The police were initially unable to provide any information on the number of participants. 1000 people were registered. The demonstration march under the motto “classes fall instead of cash register collapse” was accompanied by strong police forces.
The anarchist alliance “Black-Red May 1st” has also called for a demonstration later in the afternoon. According to the police, around 800 participants wanted to move from the Hagenbecks Tierpark underground station through Eimsbüttel and the university district to Theodor-Heuss-Platz under the motto “The system is the crisis, anarchism on the offensive”.
Almost at the same time, the revolutionary May 1st demonstration is planned under the motto “Fight on the streets, strike in the workplace – This is our answer to your politics”. According to the police, 1000 participants were announced here. The route should lead from the main station in the east of Hamburg to Barmbek.
