May 1, 2021: SPÖ Linz-Land celebrates “Labor Day”

The rally was broadcast live on the Internet from the Ansfelden municipal office.

LINZ-LAND / ANSFELDEN. Due to the coronavirus, the SPÖ was unable to allow marches and rallies to take place on the street on May 1st in 2021. “Together with the SPÖ Ansfelden, however, we have moved our rally to the Internet to draw attention to major political issues,” emphasizes SPÖ -District party chairman and top candidate for the state parliament Tobias Höglinger.

“Clear words of social democracy”

This was attended by the SPÖ district chief as well as the state woman chairwoman and Ansfeldn deputy mayor Renate Heitz. The mayor of Ansfeld, Manfred Baumberger and the parliamentary group leader Thomas Unger, and Werner Gruber, who grew up in Ansfelden, also spoke clearly on this social democratic holiday. The entire rally can be viewed on the Facebook page of the SPÖ Ansfelden and the SPÖ Linz-Land.

“Reminder of what we’re in
have achieved everything for over 130 years “

“Today reminds us of what we have achieved in over 130 years. But he also reminds us that we had to fight hard for all of this. And this day gives us hope and confidence in what lies ahead. Social democracy is needed today more than ever.

We have to secure jobs and create new jobs. That is our mission, because we are the ones who leave no one behind, because we are the ones who make politics for the many! “, Tobias Höglinger began his speech.

Closing of the MAN plant in Steyr is a topic

An important topic was of course the planned closure of the MAN plant in Steyr and the associated destruction of 8,000 jobs. And this despite the fact that the plant is in the black and the order books are full. “At VW-MAN in Steyr, it’s all about more profit – it’s about the VW-MAN owners not being able to get their necks full. It’s just about greed, ”says Höglinger.

“Politics has a clear task”

And what, according to the Social Democrats, does Upper Austrian Governor Thomas Stelzer (ÖVP) have to say about it: It’s bitter, almost unbearable, but immovable, MAN will close! Höglinger affirmed: “In my opinion politics has a clear task and that means finding solutions for the people. To say “it’s just the way it is” is not my understanding of politics! But I can promise you one thing: We Reds will certainly not give up! As social democrats, we will continue to make suggestions and continue to fight to ensure that jobs in Steyr, in the region and throughout Upper Austria are maintained and that new ones are created! ”One thing is very clear for the SPÖ Linz-Land and will always be that way be: “We as the SPÖ stand by the side of the workers.”

“Real help instead of mold packs”

A second important topic in Tobias Höglinger’s speech was the communities. Corona has massive financial implications for the communities. For the SPÖ Linz-land it needs compensation for tax losses and real help instead of sham packs!

“It needs more weight for the communities”

“The way black-and-blue treats the communities in Upper Austria has no future. That is why more weight is needed for our churches! And I will bring all my weight for our communities in the state parliament! Especially in an election year we should take our basic values of social democracy as the yardstick for our political action: Freedom, equality, justice and solidarity are the yardstick of my politics! ”Emphasizes the SPÖ district chief.

“Violence against women must be counteracted immediately”

The state chairwoman of the SPÖ women, Renate Heitz, addressed the issues of violence against women and equal opportunities on the labor market in her speech. “This week, the ninth woman in Austria this year was killed by her – in this case – ex-partner. This must be counteracted immediately! It has to start with the boys – non-violent communication and violence prevention have to be the central goal from kindergarten to high school. We finally need more women’s counseling centers, women’s shelters and transitional apartments to make it easier for women at risk to get out of violent relationships! ”Said Heitz.
