The Maxipark put on a huge program to celebrate its 40th birthday. DJs, walking bands, a snack mile and a fireworks display lasting almost 20 minutes formed the framework of the event.
Maxipark in Hamm impresses with its overall concept
For the 40th anniversary The Maxipark really celebrated. Right at the start of the summer night, the marching bands were out and about in the Maxipark. The band “Everso” started things off with cult classics and current chart hits. “Brass 2go” then performed for the visitors. Visually, the band was unmistakable, all in red. Only the small fire engine was perhaps even more conspicuous. Chief Fire Officer Schröder and his trainee Achim Krawutke tried to get the chaos under control on their tour through the Maxipark, making the visitors laugh. The band “La Stella” brought a piece of Italy to the action pit with music. And the band “Die Goldene Reiter” provided a journey back in time to the “Neue Deutsche Welle” on the platform. To heat up the atmosphere even further in time for the fireworks, DJ Björn Zölzer played on the main stage.
Fireworks as the highlight of the summer festival in the Maxipark in Hamm
The Fireworks in Maxipark lasted. During this time, the audience was taken on a journey through Maxipark history. Maxipark memories from visitors and selected songs were played alternately. These included the songs “A sky full of stars” by Coldplay and “Komet” by Apache and Udo Lindenberg, which Radio Lippewelle listeners had previously voted for. The fireworks, consisting of flares and color cascades, were visually supported by lasers.
Organizers are satisfied with the Summer Night
The first guests had already secured their seats on the lawn in front of the glass elephant at 7 p.m. Many had packed their own picnic and were then entertained by the marching bands on their blankets. This was necessary in order to be able to admire the fireworks at the front without having to push and shove. Later on, the lawn was full. And this despite the fact that there were many other events in Hamm, such as “Malle Total 2024” in the anchor and heart.
Everything went well. The people – I stood at the entrance especially for them – had so much fun. They were really happy and went home super happy. – Sascha Heinrich from Maxipark
