Chelsea, and in particular their manager Graham Potter, will visit Newcastle on Saturday in a match of maximum pressure for the “Blues” on Matchday 16 of the Premier League, the last one before the World Cup break in Qatar.
The London side have picked up just two points from their last four league games, adding to that an elimination this week in the English League Cup by losing to Manchester City. In the Premier ranking he is only seventh and Potter is on the razor’s edge.
The distance with Tottenham (4th), the last team in the ‘Champions zone’, is already five points. And six to Newcastle, third, even though those two teams have played another game.

For his part, the Arsenal leader has in principle an affordable match, visiting the Wolverhampton of Julen Lopetegui, nineteenth in the standings. Manchester City, second on two points, will host Brentford (11th).
Liverpool, after beating Tottenham 2-1, will try to continue to climb the rankings and to do so they will host Southampton (18th), who changed their coach this week.
To close the last weekend of the English championship before the World Cup, Manchester United (5th) visits Fulham in London, trying to avoid a new setback that will complicate their race for the top positions.
