YouTube is extending the maximum duration of its YouTube Shorts. In the future, the short videos can be up to 3 minutes long. This adaptation will take effect from October 15, 2024. According to YouTube, this was a change much requested by the community. There is also an adjustment to the player to visually streamline the playback.
You can also buy your own shorts, e.g. B. based on short videos that you have seen, now provide templates as part of the remix function. In the coming months, new video backgrounds and more will be introduced to enhance the videos. You’ll also be given a new mobile shorts trend site that bombards you with what’s currently popular in your chosen region. You should also soon be able to get a preview of the comments in the shorts feed, even without having to go directly to the comments feed.
If you’re less interested in shorts, you’ll soon have the chance to choose “Show me less shorts” as the setting for your home feed. Then consequently fewer short videos will be recommended to you there. Great thing that I will definitely choose because the short videos e.g. B. have zero interest. Although I rarely look at the home feed anyway and more at my subscriptions, I still think it’s a good thing.
