Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis gave the signal for the start of the summer vacation of ministers and other government officials yesterday with the standard weekly post and report on the work of the government.
Wanting to show how much Megaros Maximos and ministers work, he referred to the seven months of January – July:
“It was a period full not only of important events, but also in terms of the production of government work: we implemented 42% of the commitments for the current year, namely 29 reforms and 25 major public investments…”
I wish the prime minister “good baths!”, without saying anything else and spoiling the reformist estrus…
Skyrocketing profits
The posts of the prime minister, however, do not let you sanctify…
And I am referring to his insistence on “skyrocketing profits” in electricity generation and also his new message of how he will respond with an extraordinary levy every time they appear and trigger electricity price increases.
And I don’t want to wish him “always like this president”, because in August due to the extraordinary levy, as I learn, the power producers will pass on the additional costs to the market. In other words, where there was no possibility of prices increasing, the prime minister and his government succeeded…

Sdouko’s book
And since I am talking about energy issues, let me inform you that a few hours ago a book arrived in my hands. It is entitled “Energy 2019 – 2023, Crises – Challenges – Discriminations” and is published by “Psyhogios” publications.
Its author is the Deputy Minister of Environment and Energy Alexandra Sdoukou.
Flipping through it and reading the introductory note of Mrs. Sdoukou, let me tell you that it is something like a diary, an account of the actions of the leadership of the Ministry of Environment and Energy in the period 2019-2023.
In fact, the narrative ends before the elections of May 2023, where as the deputy minister tells us – who in the aforementioned period was general secretary of Energy and Mineral Raw Materials – made the decision to write the book by starting the preliminary process of connecting her notes, of speeches, political interventions during the election campaign.
In between the little time she found during her tour of Western Greece, Sdoukou wrote and completed the book.
The messages
In the book the reader will find, among other things, the critical periods of PPC and the energy crisis.
The choices of the ministers Kostis Hatzidakis and Kostas Skrekas are recounted, and they also preface Sdouko’s book.
I, however, will focus on two messages that the deputy minister is sending. The first has to do with the fact that – as she writes – she chose to write the events from the point of view of both the technocrat and the politician. Information that she also has. And the second she sends as a working woman and mother: “… Maybe the book will fall into the hands of another woman who doubts whether she can balance work and family, who is sad and despairing and self-critical. A woman who can find a value and a hope in the same message: Do your best in everything, always… and you will succeed!”

OTE
Sdoukou succeeds, by common confession.
However, there is another person, a new manager who also seems – for now – to succeed.
The reason for the CEO of OTE Costas Nebi, who succeeded in July the boulder… Michalis Chamaz.
One month
Nebis completed a month at the helm of OTE and showed the strategic moves he is unfolding for the large group: They are the new generation networks and pay-TV.
If anyone knows how to read the board, he will find that the market has rewarded him for his one month tenure.
The stock rose 10% in July after a long period of stagnation. And the rise of the paper, it should be noted that it was achieved although the distribution of a dividend of 0.7216 euros per share intervened…
Nebis, I am told, seems to know OTE well and is aiming for high performances…

National and the advisers…
If anyone has no complaints about the “jobs” being closed in Greece, it is the consultants.
The deals in the private sector as well as the privatizations have given enough bread (not to say sponge cake) to the companies in the field in recent years. Of which there are not many…
The big bet of the place, however, now belongs to the name of Ethniki.
And specifically the second placement expected for the remaining 18% of the bank’s share capital from the HFSF.
The pressures…
Which, according to all indications, will proceed in the autumn and even before the American elections that take place in November.
The feeling is that Maximou and TXS will not risk pushing the button after them. Because no one knows what the ballot box will bring.
In fact, some consultants have already begun to press for the undertaking of the mega project, which is estimated to attract strong interest.
The battle for the “anointing” is predicted to be tough, since the money is a lot and leaves no one indifferent.

In Alexandroupoli
In addition to most of the jobs that consultants expect in the Greek market, there are also retail chains, which, as I learn, do golden jobs in certain areas of the country.
And even in cities where our minds don’t go.
The reason for Alexandroupolis…
Germanos and Lidl Hellas
As I learn Germanos and Lidl Hellas stores, they do not have time to fill their display cases and shelves which are emptied in a short time.
The “Playstations” from the store of the Germanos chain are selling out, while mass consumption products are also leaving from the Lidl at the 4th km of Alexandroupoli – Feron.
Who buys them?
Turkish consumers
They tell me that Alexandroupolis and its shops are visited by countless consumers from neighboring Turkey.
They find technology products and those that are necessary for households cheaper, so they cross the border, shop and return to their homeland…
