SC Freiburg is apparently working on a return campaign. Offensive player Maximilian Philipp is said to be about to move to Breisgau. The talks between VfL Wolfsburg and the sports club are “well advanced”, reported the kicker on Sunday. According to information from the Badische Zeitung and the picture, the 29-year-old is expected to have a medical check-up at the Baden Bundesliga club at the beginning of the new week.

The Europa League participant is still looking for reinforcements for the offensive. Freiburg’s sports director Jochen Saier announced on Saturday after the 2-1 win at TSG Hoffenheim at the start of the season that something would happen “soon”. The only new signing for the SC Freiburg offensive so far, Junior Adamu, missed the start of the season due to a patellar tendon injury.
