Máxima wore a completely black mouth mask with her crimson dress and hat. As soon as she sat down for a conversation or at any other time where it was safe, the cap was allowed to take off. Since Wednesday, urgent advice for wearing a mouth mask in public space has been in place for all of the Netherlands.
Incidentally, it was not the first time that the queen wore a mouth mask in public. She already wore one in April during a working visit to technology company Demcon in Enschede.
In the World Forum The Hague, Máxima performed the opening ceremony of the breast cancer month by officially receiving the book Everything about breast cancer. The book was written by, among others, breast cancer surgeons Marie-Jeanne Vrancken Peeters and Hester Oldenburg of the Antoni van Leeuwenhoek, the cancer hospital in Amsterdam.
The queen also spoke with various volunteers from the Breast Cancer Association.
