Máxima during the preparations for the Zundert flower parade

Queen Máxima will visit the preparations for the Zundert flower parade on Friday 30 August. The Government Information Service (RVD) announced this on Tuesday. The flower parade is the world’s largest dahlia parade and will be held on September 1 this year. This is the 82nd edition.

Máxima will meet volunteers who are building cars. She will talk to them about their work and how important the march is for Zundert.

The Zundert parade consists of twenty floats. These are designed and built by the residents of the twenty villages. Around 7,000 volunteers help each year by designing, building and decorating the floats and tapping and plucking the flowers.
