Maxim Hartman has little sense in the return of Today Inside. The television maker, who turned sixty on Sunday, was a guest at the program on his birthday Of Perstribune van Radio 1. There he proclaimed his unvarnished opinion about the country’s most watched talk show.
“The program has become even worse than I had dreamed of. It is only populist, arch-conservative incitement to hatred, with disfigured opinions, for a very stupid audience,” says Hartman, who, like Johan Derksen himself, never published a magazine for the mouth takes. What’s the difference? “That I’m smart. They only do what the stupid masses want. I don’t conform.”

“I am always sincere and original, I never imitate anyone. I do not look for confirmation and certainly not from stupid people. That is what they do and I think it is very bad. What happened to Sigrid Kaag is partly due to to Johan Derksen. He has been messing around and hating night after night. I used to really like him, but he has become increasingly worse and does not realize what his responsibility is,” concludes Hartman.
The tirade of the television personality is received with approval by Sander Schimmelpenninck, who was a guest on the program several times in the past. “Maxim beautiful boss. We need more brutal but fair masculinity in the fight against the stupid right,” writes Schimmelpenninck on X, the former Twitter. After a summer break, the new season of Today Inside starts on Monday.
