The Argentine Maxi Morález agreed on Tuesday his return to the New York City of the American MLS, after a brief stint at Racing Club in Argentina, and signed a contract until 2024.
Morález, 36, left New York City last year to return to the club where he began his career, Racing Club, and was currently without a contract.
The Argentine midfielder, who had a positive step in his career with Atalanta in the Italian Serie A (2011-2016), returns to New York, where he played from 2017 to 2022 in a City with which he was MLS champion in 2021.
“I’m coming home. This club and this city mean everything to me and my family, I couldn’t be more excited,” Morález said in statements published by New York City.
“When I left, I missed the facilities, the city, the people, the environment and everyday life. Saying goodbye to New York City was very hard, but I spent seven special months in Argentina. I felt I had a debt to pay , that I had to play for the club of my youth again. Now I am focused on adapting to the new team,” he added.
