Max Verstappen reached his seventh consecutive victory in F1 2023 this Sunday, at the Hungarian GP, but could not take much advantage of the trophy he received on the podium. At the champagne party, Lando Norris – who crossed McLaren in second place – hit the bottom of the bottle on the step intended for the winner. In the sequence, the trophy “flew” and broke when it fell to the ground.

Verstappen only noticed the damage seconds later and reacted with laughter, as did the McLaren driver. The Hungarian stage trophy is made of porcelain. According to Hungarian journalist Sándor Mészáros, the vase takes about six months to produce and costs around 40,000 euros (more than R$ 213,000).

For Lando Norris, second place in Hungary marks the eighth podium of his career, the second of the 2023 season. The British crossed the exact 33s731 of the winner Verstappen, who dominated the race at the Hungaroring from end to end.
