Sunny. Dry. Air +21…22С, highway +43…46С
On Saturday morning it was not hot, but the asphalt under a cloudless sky heated up to forty degrees. The stands were filled, the enthusiasm of the fans knew no bounds, and spectator access to the pit lane had to be limited.
Overtaking in Mexico City is difficult; most teams are focused on preparing for qualifying. Ricciardo did not leave the pits for a long time, but then he left and got into work. Magnussen was less fortunate – he completed only one lap and returned to the pits due to problems with the rear left wheel. At the end of the session, Kevin went out again.
Max Verstappen again headed the protocol, completing a lap in 1:17.887, but the speeds were not too high – Alex Albon from Williams was only seven hundredths behind the leader.
