Driver for red bull Max Verstappen he took a pocket after a certificate F1 GP China. At the same time, Lewis Hamilton he had poor results and only finished 18th.
In the qualifying session at the Shanghai International Circuit, Saturday afternoon (20/4/2024) WIB, Verstappen recorded the best time of 1 minute 33.660 seconds in Q3. This is Red Bull’s 100th pole in F1.
This result also maintains Verstappen’s 100 percent record in qualifying for F1 2024. The Dutch racer has always taken pole from the first row in Bahrain.
Verstappen is 0.322 seconds ahead of second-placed teammate Sergio Perez. Fernando Alonso is in third position who is 0.488 seconds slower than Verstappen.
The fourth and fifth positions were filled by two McLaren drivers, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. The Ferrari duo, Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, then followed in sixth and seventh place respectively.
Meanwhile, the Chinese GP F1 qualifying session was a disaster for Lewis Hamilton. After finishing second in the sprint race, the Mercedes racer came out in Q1 with a time of 1 minute 35.573 seconds.
