Dutchman Max Verstappen, Red Bull driver, crowned the Italian Grand Prix at the “Monza” circuit, the 14th stage of the Formula 1 World Championship, and also surpassed the former world champion, German Sebastian Vettel, in the number of consecutive victories in one season.

Verstappen covered the race distance in one hour, 12 minutes and 13 seconds, 7 seconds ahead of his teammate, Mexican Sergio Perez, and Spaniard Carlos Sainz (Ferrari) by 11 seconds.

This is Verstappen’s 47th victory in Formula 1 races, and the tenth in a row this season, overtaking Vettel, who won 9 races in a row in 2013.

Verstappen took this victory an additional step to preserve the world championship title for the third year in a row, as his score became 364 points in the lead, 145 points behind Perez.
