Yet another triumph and yet another record in Formula 1. Max Verstappen also dominated at Monza hitting the tenth victory in a row overtaking the former Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel and preceding his teammate Sergio Perez for a new Red Bull double. The Ferrari-branded Italian Grand Prix was thrilling, with Carlos Sainz starting from pole, resisting the world champion for 15 laps and finishing third on the podium at the end of a good duel with his teammate Charles Leclerc who had to settle for fourth position. Verstappen now at 364 points in the World Championship puts another important step that brings him closer to his third title. False start in Monza due to a problem with Tsunoda’s AlphaTauri which stops at the Parabolica a few seconds before the green light, delaying the start by about twenty minutes. At the second light, after the new starting procedure, the good start of the Ferraris makes you dream with Sainz who, starting from pole position, manages to launch himself into the lead of the race keeping well behind Verstappen. Leclerc’s other redhead is also strong, maintaining the third position conquered in qualifying and also trying to threaten the Red Bull world champion by putting himself on the exhausts to the delight of the tide of Prancing Horse fans. In the first laps Sainz manages to stop Verstappen’s attacks showing the progress of the Maranello team, but on lap 15 he pays dearly for a small mistake: the Spaniard blocks the wheels at the Roggia and the flying Dutchman passes him, closing the corner first. From here on another Grand Prix begins, with the leader of the World Championship going on the run as usual and the Reds trying everything for everything: on lap 20 they try the undercut by replacing the soft tires with the hard ones, but the the red wall’s strategy hit fails and on the return to the track the positions are unchanged with the Dutchman from Red Bull ahead of the two Ferraris. Meanwhile, Sergio Perez’s other Red Bull wakes up behind Leclerc and Sainz who, after passing Russell’s Mercedes for fourth position, sets off in pursuit of the Reds. A few laps and the challenge between the Mexican and Leclerc begins, who resists like a lion as long as he can and precisely until lap 32 when he is overtaken right on the finish line, silencing the Monza fans and the many VIPs who flocked to the Brianza racetrack to see Formula 1. From Fabio Capello to the singer Fabio Rovazzi who are now regulars at the Monza event, to the basketball player Dirk Nowitzki and the fresh high jump world champion Gianmarco Tamberi. Also present were the figure skater Arianna Fontana, the skier Sofia Goggia, Carlo Verdone and chef Gordon Ramsey. Returning to the race, Verstappen continues to ring in fast laps with Sainz almost ten seconds away from the Dutchman and with Perez almost on the exhaust. A new duel ensues between the Mexican of Red Bull and the Spaniard who has to give up second position a few laps from the checkered flag. A crackling finale with the two Ferraris battling for third place with overtaking and counter-overtaking at the limit. In the end, Sainz smiles as he takes the podium, but is forced to watch the Red Bull super couple from the bottom step of the podium in front of the cheering Red tide who, after the encouraging qualifying, dreamed of seeing the Prancing Horse a little higher.
