TOKYO – The Formula 1 Japanese Grand Prix will be held at the Suzuka circuit until at least 2029. The management of the series announced today on the website that it has reached an agreement with the representatives of the track to extend the contract by five years.

Suzuka is one of the most popular circuits among pilots and fans. Since 1987, 33 Grand Prix have been held there, and Michael Schumacher remains the local record holder with six triumphs. Last year’s event attracted 222,000 spectators over the entire weekend.

However, starting this year, the Japanese Grand Prix will be moved from the end of the season to April. Until now, the world champion has been decided twelve times in Suzuka, the last time the Dutchman Max Verstappen confirmed his second triumph here in 2022.
