Mayor Remo Ankli brought the jubilee congratulations from the Solothurn government, Selzach mayor Silvia Spycher a gift from the community. Max Jäggi grew up in Bellach, but the jubilee has lived in his house in Selzach for almost 70 years.

Here he raised four children with his wife, who died in 2005. He is now a grandfather nine times and great-grandfather 14 times.

Max Jäggi was a primary school teacher until his retirement, and several generations of Selzachers went to school with him. In 1949 and 1952 he achieved fame locally when he embodied Jesus at the last Passion Play in the village. Today Max Jäggi spends his time talking, walking and talking to audio books – despite his old age, in very good health. (mgt)
