Sergio ‘Checo’ Perez was invited in ‘Hugo Sanchez Presents‘, a program in which he talked about soccer, his career and the ‘competition’ he has with his teammate from Red Bulla rivalry that he compared to the one made by the media around CR7 and Messi.
The Mexican explained why he considers that Verstappen would be the Messi of motor racing, and he feels more identified with Cristiano Ronaldo.
“Messi is Verstappen. A very natural driver, with a lot of talent and he is the Messi of the cars. I’m like Cristiano, talented too, but more worked and dedicated to getting the performance out of himself”.
As if that were not enough, he also assured that he compares his evolution as a pilot with that of Karim Benzema in the Real Madrid and the football.
“With Benzema too, who gets better every year and that’s what has happened to me in my career, that every year I’m getting better. Benzema is getting better and better in the Real Madrid“.
