Max Bronski awarded Radio Bremen Crime Prize 2023 for ‘Urs the Berserker’

Radio Bremen has awarded the Radio Bremen Crime Prize 2023 to Max Bronski. Director Yvette Gerner presented the award. “Max Bronski succeeds in creating everyday, but on the other hand very extraordinary characters,” said the jury: “The author uncompromisingly takes the side of the weaker, excluded and deeply human border crossers.” The jury also praised Bronski’s clear and straightforward language , which is nevertheless full of humor and shows a tender affection for its characters. In Bronski’s latest novel “Urs the Berserker”, hotelier Urs Zobel, who maintains his happy little biotope on Munich’s Schillerstrasse despite adverse circumstances, has to go through several borderline experiences in order to find himself in the end.
