The commemoration of HIV/AIDS Day with the national theme “Unite Steps to Prevent HIV All Equals End AIDS” cooperated with the Indramayu District AIDS Commission (KPA), Indramayu District Health Bureau, for People’s Welfare (Kesra) of Indramayu Regional Secretariat, Perumdam Tirta Darma Ayu and Baznas Indramayu Regency.

Indramayu Regent Nina Agustina’s speech read by Indramayu Atang Regional Secretariat People’s Welfare Section Head Riko Hasbudi firstly expressed his gratitude and great appreciation for the implementation of the commemoration event HIV/AIDS World Cup 2022.

“At Mawar Clinic of Indramayu Hospital, we salute and thank you profusely for starting and collaborating with us as KPA of Welfare Division, and thanks to the commitment of RSUD leadership, especially at Mawar Clinic, this activity can be held continuing to try to prevent HIV/AIDS in Indramayu,” he said.

Welfare Atang unit head Riko Hasbudi explained that the current challenges are quite severe, because from 1993 to June 2022, there were 4,849 people exposed to HIV and HIV/AIDS prevention and control must continue.

“Everyone must remain enthusiastic, let us join hands, coordinate in carrying out HIV/AIDS management and prevention in accordance with the Three Zero mission by 2030, God willing, through all our cooperation with related parties, namely KPA partners, hopefully the goals of this mission we can make it happen soon,” he said.

According to him, the worldwide HIV/AIDS commemoration can provide enthusiasm for HIV/AIDS prevention and control in Indramayu Regency in order to create a dignified (clean, religious, forward, just, prosperous and great) Indramayu.

In addition, the Director of Indramayu Hospital, Deden Bonni Koswara, through the Deputy Director of Services of Indramayu Regency Hospital, Agung Suhartono, also expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the Mawar Clinic of Indramayu Hospital, who has provided good service and treatment for patients.

“We are very supportive and hope that this event or the HIV/AIDS service at the Mawar clinic can continue, progress and benefit the community in regards to HIV/AIDS management and prevention. Don’t forget that the rehabilitation function here is the patient’s mental and psychological rehabilitation so that the patient can feel more comfortable to undergo the treatment, we will also get input to improve our services to the people of Indramayu, especially PLWHA,” he said.

On the same occasion, the founder of the Mawar Clinic at the Indramayu Hospital of Widiana, explained regarding the three zero mission in 2030 that there are no new HIV/AIDS virus infections, no HIV/AIDS deaths, no stigma and discrimination towards PLWHA, and this encouraged him to establish the Mawar Clinic in 2010 due to the increasing number of HIV/AIDS cases detected.

“Educating HIV/AIDS patients is not just one time, it must be repeated many times, because some of them, after being exposed, show an attitude of denial, that is, they don’t feel bad. To restore him, we socialize that HIV / AIDS can be cured, we apply HIV / AIDS like other diseases, we provide counseling to stay healthy by taking medication for the rest of his life,” she explained.

The hope is that this time the coordination will be able to improve the team’s performance with the help of all stakeholders so that we can suppress the growth rate of HIV/AIDS and stop the spread rate of HIV/AIDS. AIDS in the Indramayu district.

Meanwhile, Indramayu Sella Ayu Vidada Hospital Mawar Clinic’s Support and Treatment Services (PDP) Person in charge as Chairman of the Activities Committee explained that Mawar Clinic together with KPA and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) caregivers of AIDS are committed to adequately support and protect to achieve its Three Zeros mission in 2030.
