The injury occurred in the 85th minute of the match, when the Argentine striker collapsed on the field and was taken off on a stretcher, increasing the uncertainty about his recovery. Although Galatasaray has not established a specific time frame for his recovery, Turkish sports media have called Icardi’s season over due to the severity of the injury and the long recovery process it entails, estimated between six and nine months.
In the same match, Galatasaray achieved a 3-2 victory over Tottenham, but Icardi’s injury clouded the celebration. The forward had been removed from the field in the 76th minute, which left his immediate future in suspense.
