Mauricio Pochettino will lead an eye-catching national team » Alerta Digital

Argentine Mauricio Pochettino was officially appointed as the new coach of the United States National Team and will be in charge of leading the team in the 2026 World Cup, in which the Americans will be the hosts along with Mexico and Canada.

The United States Soccer Federation announced his signing via social media. In a short video, the former Chelsea and Tottenham manager invited the public to the match against Panama.

Argentine coaches in charge of national teams

Pochettino thus joins the long list of Argentine coaches around the world who are in charge of a national team, as is the case in the South American Qualifiers, where seven of the ten teams have an Argentine coach. Among them are:
