Seremi de Salud Maule and Senama call to resume bivalent vaccination in older people

– People over 65 years of age and those in the highest risk groups, who have already completed one year since the last Covid-19 vaccination.
The Health Authority of the Maule Region, Gloria Icaza, reactivated the inoculation campaign with the bivalent vaccine against Covid-19 for people who are celebrating one year since their last vaccination with this dose

Gloria Icaza, Seremi de Salud, pointed out: “We are resuming the annual bivalent vaccine campaign to prevent Covid-19. While it is true, the health alert has already ended, it is a disease that is here to stay and we need to keep ourselves vaccinated annually.” In addition, she added that “in our region, we call on around 176 thousand older people to go to their health centers to resume their vaccination, since it will allow us to be protected from this respiratory disease.”

For his part, Ignacio Salas, Regional Coordinator of Senama, indicated that “we are resuming the bivalent vaccination campaign, for our Seniors who live in these sheltered homes in Talca, but we will also carry out this action with the people who live in our Public Eleam of Cauquenes, Curicó and Licantén and in the 15 Centro Día devices that we have in the region.”

It should be noted that at the country level, the Ministry of Health (Minsal) campaign is part of the planning of the vaccine calendar. In terms of figures, between October 22 and 28, 3,433 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 were registered, increasing 12.4% compared to the previous week.
