Matura exams in two formulas
The secondary school leaving examinations are being held this year in two formulas. Under the new formula, this year’s graduates of general secondary schools, technical schools and second-cycle vocational schools take part in them. Most students from earlier years take the Matura exam in the old format.
What exams will take place on May 13?

English exams at advanced and bilingual levels will start at 9.00. The exam at the advanced level will last 150 minutes, and at the bilingual level – 180 minutes. The philosophy exam will start at 2 p.m. It will last 180 minutes.
Subjects for the Matura exam in 2024
High school graduates must take three mandatory written exams at the basic level: in Polish, mathematics and a modern foreign language. Graduates from schools or classes with the language of instruction of national minorities also have a written examination in their native language at the basic level.
All this year’s graduates must also take two oral exams: in Polish and a foreign language. High school graduates from schools for national minorities must also take an oral exam in their native language.
High school graduates must also take one written exam at the advanced level, i.e. the so-called item to choose from. Those interested can take up to five more advanced level exams. Graduates of technical secondary schools and second-cycle vocational schools are excluded from this obligation if they have met all the conditions necessary to obtain a diploma confirming vocational qualifications or a vocational diploma in the profession taught at the technical level.
37.1% of students declared their willingness to take only one exam at the advanced level. this year’s graduates.
