Did Taylor Swift’s Songs Completely Capture Her Romance with Matty Healy?

Speculation is rife among Taylor Swift fans that her latest album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” contains hidden references to her short-lived romance with Matty Healy. One song in particular, “The Smallest Man,” has sparked interest. However, Healy’s aunt, Debbie Dedes, has now come to his defense, suggesting that there is more to the story.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Dedes asserts, “Nothing surprises him anymore. He will not be surprised by the song. Him and her know what went on.”
Debbie Dedes, who is Healy’s mother Denise Welch’s sister, further added, “As my nephew, we know a bit more about what went on than has been in the press.” She also supports the notion that Healy is “very happy” with his current girlfriend, model Gabbriette Bechtel.
Taylor Swift, as well as Healy, has not responded to Page Six’s request for a comment.
Hidden Meanings in the Songs?
In “The Smallest Man,” Swift seemingly alludes to a man, potentially Healy, who is associated with the religion of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Healy, the frontman of The 1975, often dons a black suit on stage, which bears some resemblance to the traditional attire worn by Jehovah’s Witnesses.
During Swift and Healy’s brief relationship in the summer of 2023, Swift faced backlash due to Healy’s past controversial remarks about rapper Ice Spice and his overall eccentric comments. Swift’s songs “But Daddy, I Love Him” and “I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can)” delve into her emotions and the pushback she received from individuals concerned about their relationship.
More than Meets the Eye
Debbie Dedes suggests that Swift’s songs may not completely capture the nuances of her nephew’s relationship with the pop star. She implies that the public only sees a fraction of the story, and there is a more nuanced and comprehensive narrative.

Although the rumored romance between Swift and Healy came to an end, both have found love elsewhere. Healy has been seeing model Gabbriette Bechtel, while Swift is currently dating NFL star Travis Kelce. Engagement is speculated to be on the cards for Swift and Kelce, as insiders have revealed.
