After several accidents on the E20 where cars or trucks have run off or become stuck in the snow, there are major traffic problems on the road.
Critical to the Swedish Transport Administration
Mattias says that the family kept their spirits up in the car, but that he is disappointed by the lack of information from the Swedish Transport Administration.
– There is no information about what will happen, you get a little frustrated, I must say.
Was it so wise to go out today?
– We have to go home to work, we’ve been away on holiday. We left early and had plenty of time and have winter tires on. But if I could I would have stayed another day to avoid this, said Mattias Larsson in SVT Nyheter’s live broadcast.
Agrees about the lack of information
Another Mattias also stood still in the queues on E20. Mattias Jansson was on his way to Stockholm with his son, in-laws and dog. They made a quick lunch stop in Mariestad and continued around 3pm on Tuesday, but they didn’t get very far.
– We managed a mile or so, we haven’t rolled many meters in the last 6 hours, he said.
He agrees with Mattias Larsson that the information should be better.
– I lack reports about what is happening, you want to understand why things are not moving, says Mattias Jansson.
Big challenges
From the Swedish Transport Administration’s side, they understand the frustration and say that they publish the information they have.
– We have had stops in a number of rounds on E20. It’s about the fact that it’s truckers that have stopped and we don’t get that information if they don’t call in about it. We have put out what we have, but there are big challenges, that’s right, says Bengt Olsson, press manager at the Swedish Transport Administration.
