Mattia Binotto: From Ferrari to Texa – A New Era in Automotive Technology

Mattia Binotto starts again from automotive world after his farewell to Ferrari on 1 January 2023, at the end of 28 glorious years with the Maranello team. The 54-year-old Italian-Swiss engineer will be the new strategic coordinator of the ambitious E-Powertrain division of the Venetian company Texa of Monastier di Treviso, founded 32 years ago by Bruno Vianello. Binotto will have the task of making the division a global point of reference for the design, production and supply of new automotive components linked to the world of vehicle electrification (engines, inverters, power units and related software and complete axles, intended for high-performance sports cars).

Furthermore, on Tuesday 21 February, Binotto did so his entry into the Texa board of directorsalongside the founder and president Bruno Vianellofrom the vice president Eugene Razelli and the advisor Massimo Varaschin. “Beyond the competitive experience that I have always had in my life, what attracted me to Texa was the strategic audacity of its project to build an Italian excellence characterized by the most advanced technologies of new mobility – these are the words of the engineer Italian-Swiss former Ferrari —. In fact, Texa intends to establish itself as the reference technological standard worldwide. And this thanks to the mobilization of huge investment resources and the attraction of the best talents to be concentrated in Italy, that is, where there is a formidable motoring culture to be preserved, renewed and now also relaunched”.

For president Vianello, Binotto “he is a top manager, with many years behind him in the world of Formula 1, which will enrich our team with its propulsive contribution – he added – Together with the rest of the e-Powertrain division team we are aiming for intense development that will lead us in a few years to achieve important and significant results in the most prized in the automotive market. We will give our contribution to the relaunch of the Italian tradition in sports car technology with the new electric traction, trusting that it can also become a vector for the entire automotive sector, in such a particular moment, of our nation”.
