After two second places, victory at this year’s Tour was finally achieved by Michael Matthews. For the triumph, the Australian cyclist rode somewhat unexpectedly in a demanding hilly stage, which ended with a difficult climb on the Col de la Croix Neuve. Jonas Vingegaard managed the yellow jersey without difficulty, who reached the finish line in a pair with Tadej Pogačar with a small lead over the other favourites.
