Matthew Perry, ‘Friends’ Actor, Found Dead at 54: Police Investigating Death

Matthew Perry, known as Chandler in the comedy series Friends, passed away at the age of 54. According to various reliable American media, the actor was found dead in his home.

Police sources say, among other things, Los Angeles Times that Perry was found Saturday in his home in Los Angeles. The actor was reportedly found dead in his jacuzzi.

The police do not yet want to officially confirm the actor’s death, but they are against it CNN said to investigate a death at Perry’s home address. A spokesperson for the fire brigade confirms that they were called for a rescue operation where the victim was in the water.

Perry was allegedly found by his assistant. According to sources from Times in TMZ the actor’s death is not considered suspicious. No drugs were found in his home. The official cause of death is still under investigation.

“We are devastated by the passing of our dear friend Matthew Perry,” Warner Bros. wrote. Television Group, the producer of Friends, in a statement. “His brilliant humor has had an impact on the entire world and he will remain in the hearts of many forever.”

Perry became world famous as Chandler Bing

Perry became known to the general public for his role as Chandler Bing in the American hit series Friends. The Canadian-American actor played for ten seasons in the series, which was shown in approximately a hundred countries.

He later starred in several feature films, including The Whole Nine Yards. Perry also played guest roles in the series Ally McBeal in The West Wing and lent his voice to the animated series The Simpsons. Perry has played less and less in recent years: his last role in a series or film dates from 2017, when he starred in the miniseries The Kennedys: After Camelot.

Last year, Perry released his memoir: Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing: A Memoir. In it he talks about his years of struggle with alcohol and drug addiction.
