Relatives of the recently deceased Matthew Perry have set up the Matthew Perry Foundation. The foundation helps people with addictions. The American actor himself has struggled with alcohol and drug addictions for years.
In 2022, Perry released the book Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing: A Memoir out. In it, the actor described how he dealt with his alcohol and drug addictions.
Perry also advocated for others with addiction problems. “If I die, in terms of my so-called achievements, it would be nice if Friends stands far behind the things I did to help other people. I know it won’t happen, but it would be fun,” Perry said in 2022 Q with Tom Power– podcast.
Perry passed away last week at the age of 54.
