Mattarella receives Fitto: “His role in the EU is important for Italy”

The President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarellareceived today at the Quirinale Raffaele Fitto. An interview in which the head of state expressed his best wishes for the assignment of the role – so important for Italy – assigned to him by the president von der Leyen within the Commission of the European Union.

The position taken by the head of state comes after the disagreement over EU appointments, with the stalemate over Fitto and the Spanish Teresa Ribera which makes von der Leyen’s chair tremble. Everything is postponed until next week. Useful days to try to mend the tear.
