Matt Lang Shares Difficult Start to Career in Quebec on ‘The True Nature’ – Plans for American Career

Singer Matt Lang returned briefly on Sunday evening during his appearance on the show The true natureon his difficult start to his career in Quebec.

Having left for Nashville in 2018 to work on his music and gain inspiration, the musician was unable to sell his project upon his return to Quebec. So he took all his savings to finance his first album under the name Matt Lang.

“It was fortunate that my parents were also there to help me financially. For real, if it doesn’t work, I think, as a good Quebecer, that I was in trouble. But in case of doubt, gas to the end,” confided the ex-participant of The voice (2015) to Jean-Philippe Dion.

“When we released the album and got into the top charts, charts with Eminem and Paul McCartney, it was like: Oh shitokay, wait a minute. […] There is something going on,” he added.

Upon the release of his first EP, the songwriter reached the top of sales in Canada in addition to accumulating millions of streams online.

“What came to me the most at that time was that I drove everywhere except at our house. And I heard other country people playing, but not me. They were Americans… that tickled me a little. I’m at home and I’m not playing,” he admitted to Jean-Philippe Dion.

American career

For the rest of his career, Matt Lang would like to break through abroad, particularly in the United States. The singer also said he was ready to settle overseas to achieve his goal.

The true nature is presented on TVA on Sundays at 9:30 p.m. and can be replayed at any time at TVA+.
