You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:
On Private Party’s performance at WrestleDream:
“You know, I didn’t see the pay-per-view. I followed the clips. I was watching – especially online while it was dropping, very closely the Private Party stuff [et] Young Bucks. I was really interested in that because, as you know, I have a very close relationship with Private Party. I’m very invested in what they do and how their future unfolds. And I like the fact that they wanted to kill him. They had a great match; all the feedback I’ve seen has been really, really good.
“But it’s one of those things that I hope they pull the trigger on these guys eventually.” Because I think if you want to do these guys, you’re in this window of time – which is often small – where you have to do it, especially if you want to take them to the next level. These are guys who have been there for five years since the beginning. These are regular AEW guys. I would love to see them become the World Tag Team Champions. I would love to see them beat the Bucks and become the champions, because then that would kind of cement them as being a foundational team in AEW. And I would like to see that happen.
On Shelton Benjamin’s AEW in-ring debut against Lio Rush:
“I enjoyed watching Shelton’s match. My biggest criticism of this is that I feel like they should have made Shelton have a more definitive victory in his first outing. I thought he looked good, and it was great for him to have a match…
I like the fact that they had a great match. Me, personally. This is once again my opinion, take it or leave it. I feel like Shelton should have come out, and he should have been in a five minute match, and he looked dominant. I like Lio Rush. I think it’s super entertaining. I love what he does, but I don’t think we needed a 10-minute, 12-minute, whatever it was, super competitive back-and-forth match. I think you really needed to shed some light on Shelton. Like: “ It’s Shelton Benjamin. He is here. He’s badass, and he’s going to make a difference in AEW. »
