Matič came to AS last year as a free agent from Manchester United. Under his former Old Trafford and Chelsea boss José Mourinho, he made 50 appearances and scored two goals. With the London club, the former Serbian international won the English league in 2015 and 2017 and also the cup in 2010.
In addition to his native Serbia, Matič also played in Slovakia for Košice, in the Netherlands and Portugal, where he won a title and a cup with Benfica Lisbon.
