The Ecuadorian of Ineos closed a gap of 41 seconds on leader Jakob Fugslang without effort, before beating the Dane of Astana in the sprint for the stage victory.
Richard Carapaz made a strong appearance on Thursday.

sport">Michael Woods (Israel Start-Up Nation) won the sprint of the second group at 39 seconds. The Canadian kept Julian Alaphilippe behind him, among others. The world champion of Deceuninck-QuickStep finished seventh.

Sixth stage
sport">The sixth stage of the Tour of Switzerland leads the peloton on Friday from Fiesch to Disentis Sedrun. The stage is 130 kilometers long.
