For being released to play in the first game of the semifinals of the Carioca Championship for Botafogo, Matheus was out of the team’s first training game, against Canaan. In the second friendly, in the rout over the Bahia 5-0 at Barradão, the Botafogo striker came on in the 24th minute of the second half, replacing Marcos Leonardo, from Santos, and had no participation in goals.
This Wednesday, in the last activity of the National Team, Matheus Nascimento entered the 20th minute of the second stage in place of Matheus França, from Flamengo, and participated in the last two goals of the 8-1 rout. In all, the Botafogo player had 46 minutes on the field by the U-20 team, coached by Ramon Menezes.
Now, Matheus Nascimento returns to Rio de Janeiro to participate in Botafogo’s training sessions under the command of Luis Castro aiming at the debut in Brazilian championshipApril 9 or 10, against the Corinthiansat Nilton Santos Stadium.
